Welcome to Lifelink International Adoption! Lifelink has been linking children and families since 1895, and it is our honor to be a part of creating forever families.
Selecting an agency is an important decision that will help to set the tone for your adoption experience and for the exciting months ahead. We invite you to partner with us as you seek to create or build your family through adoption!
Why Lifelink?Longstanding History: Lifelink has been linking children and families since 1896, and it is our honor to be a part of creating forever families.
Size and Span: Lifelink is pleased to be the largest international placing agency in the State of Illinois, and we have placed more than 3,700 children with loving families since 1984. Lifelink serves families and children in a total of four states: Illinois, Wisconsin, Florida and Iowa.
Focus on Client Service: Lifelink’s work is all about serving families who are willing and able to welcome children in need into their homes. It is this focus on families that has resulted in 98 percent customer satisfaction as reported by Lifelink’s annual Client Surveys for each of the past many years!
Dual Accreditation: On February 29, 2007, Lifelink became one of the first adoption agencies to receive dual accreditation under the Council on Accreditation and under the Hague Convention. To adopt a child from a country that has adopted and implemented the Hague Treaty of 1993, families must work with an international adoption agency that has received its Hague Accreditation.
Direct Programs: Lifelink works directly with partners in several countries. Lifelink is the only agency in Illinois to have a direct partnership with the Eastern Social Welfare Society in South Korea. In addition, Lifelink has direct programs with China, Hong Kong, the Philippines, and Haiti.
Experienced, Caring Staff: During accreditation visits, Lifelink was congratulated on the quality, experience and tenure of our International Adoption staff. Many of our adoption social workers have ten or more years experience in the field and have earned their Master’s degree in Social Work, and more than 80 percent of our workers have international travel experience. These factors help our workers provide the highest quality service available in today’s adoption arena.
Involvement in Humanitarian Aid: Lifelink serves children through adoptive placement as well through projects and partnerships that benefit children in their countries of origin. Lifelink develops humanitarian partnerships in various countries strategically to address the needs of children. We look for projects that would allow our limited budget to make a significant impact for the benefit of children and their communities. We invite you to get involved with Lifelink in meeting the needs of children around the world!
